“Release the giant, Melissa!” Someone said that to me not too long ago. No, she wasn’t referring to some crazy nursery rhyme, but instead to the insane potential that is inside of me—and YOU! 🖤
Have you ever had one of those moments where you settle for average? Or tell yourself that not doing something fully is going to be a-ok? 🙋🏼♀️ Um, yes! Over here! Those moments where we settle take a tiny chip out of our self-confidence. And each little chip starts to add up and add up…and add up. Our self-confidence is greatly impacted when we know inside that we aren’t giving it our all.
I recently came across the lyrics to “Daughter” by Sleeping at Last. “Our ceiling is your floor.” 🖤 Breathe in. Breathe out. Truly, soak that in. Since reading these words, I have played it each day—belting it out at the top of my lungs. Even though singing isn’t a gift God gave me, I choose to use it in cases like this! 😂 And I give you permission to do the same!
God made you. He created your eye color. He gave you the gifts and talents you have today. He knows how many hairs are on your head. He knows your tomorrow. And by gollies, He created YOU (yes, I’m talking to you!) to be great! 🖤 There is someone out there who is counting on you to step into your greatness—to use your gifts and talents to make an impact. It might even be two people or four or oodles and oodles.
Please do it. Please release that giant. Find that giant potential that is inside of you and use it to do some insane good. Our world needs more joy amongst the yuck—with each of us being that giant, we can spread some insane joy! 💛
“You’re ready, born ready
And all you gotta do
Is put one foot in front of you”
