Self Love

If you were around last year, you may have seen and participated in our self-love challenge. You can read about it here: http://simplisisters.com/self-care/simpli-sisters-self-care-challenge/

You cannot fully love another until you learn to love yourself.

“I love my life” saying these words out loud for the first time brought me to tears. I had never said it and I don’t know if I ever fully realized that it takes intentional effort to love yourself and the life that you are living. Try saying it out loud! It feels really weird at first. Loving yourself does not mean that you are vain and think you are better than anyone else. It is understanding yourself and who you really are.

Practicing self-love ensures you are meeting your individual needs in the following areas:

  • Physical
  • Mental/intellectual
  • Emotional
  • Social
  • Lifestyle/Practical
  • Spiritual

Benefits of self-love include:

  • Inner happiness and content
  • Healthy mind, body, and spirit
  • Ability to show love to others

Our challenge for you, is to do something for yourself today. Show yourself some meaningful and purposeful love.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Exercise
  • Meditate
  • Journal
  • Read
  • Write affirmations/gratitude list
  • Create a vision board
  • Do something you love

“It was when I stopped searching for home within others
and lifted the foundations of home within myself
I found there were no roots more intimate
than those between a mind and body
that have decided to be whole.”
