Who doesn’t love this 90s trend coming back? I won’t lie, I was a little hesitant at first, but I have come around and think it’s so fun!

This DIY scrunchie is quick and easy (depending on your material and if your sewing machine likes you while you’re making it 😉 haha)

We bought 1/4 yard of velvet, but you can use cotton or whatever fabric you have around.

DIRECTIONS:

Cut a piece of fabric about 18 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide.

Fold your piece of fabric in half, lengthwise, with the pattern side together.

Sew the fabric together at the raw edges.
Turn the fabric inside out, the pattern side should now be showing.

Measure your elastic to be a little bit bigger than your wrist (you want the finished scrunchie to be able to go on your wrist)
Weave the elastic through the fabric (the fabric will look like a tube and you will want the elastic to go through, to meet ends)
Sew the ends of the elastic together (easiest by hand)
Sew the fabric ends together (with a machine or by hand)

If you want to add “bunny ears” to your scrunchie, cut a piece of fabric, about 4 inches wide and 12 inches long.
Fold your piece of fabric in half, lengthwise, with the pattern side together.
Sew the fabric together at the raw edges.
Turn the fabric inside out, the pattern side should now be showing.
Tie onto the scrunchie at the seam.

That’s it!
