Obviously you love your children. But do you show them love in ways they perceive? Gary Chapman’s love languages work for children as well. Here’s a love language quiz you can have your children take: https://www.5lovelanguages.com/profile/children/

Benefits to showing your children love:

  • They will grow up with self-confidence and security
  • They will grow to trust and turn to you
  • They will learn how to show love to others
  • They will have a sense of belonging

We understand and realize that you may not have children of your own, but that does not mean there isn’t a child in your life that you love. Maybe a neighbor, niece or nephew, or a friend’s child. “The soul is healed by being with children” -Fydor Dostoyevsky

Our challenge for today is for you to show your children love. Make sure to do something for each child in your family.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Take your child on a date
  • Write your child a note with things you love about them
  • Make your child their favorite treat
  • Give your child a day off from chores, just because
  • Give your child a hug

“Speak to your children as if they are the wisest, kindest, most beautiful, and magical humans on earth, for what they believe is what they’ll become” -Brooke Hampton
